FAQs FOR IV OR IM Therapy
Intramuscular (IM) vitamin therapy are vitamins and minerals injected into the muscle. It is most commonly administered to the upper arm on the deltoid muscle. It is then absorbed into the bloodstream, allowing for a much higher absorption rate than oral supplements. Vitamin injections bypass the GI system to quickly deliver the maximum dosage of nutrients. Some benefits include increased energy levels, immunity, and promoting weight loss.
An intravenous (IV) vitamin infusion are vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and antioxidants delivered through the vein into the bloodstream directly to your cells. An IV catheter is inserted in your arm by a licensed medical professional to provide access into the vein. Once inserted, the needle is removed and a small, thin, plastic catheter stays in place until the infusion is done. The infusion of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants is painless and allows full movement of your arm to use your phone, read a book, or work on your laptop.
We do not accept health insurance, but most Health Savings (HSA) and Flexible Spending (FSA) Accounts are accepted.
**Please note this only applies to IV and IM vitamin therapy**
Anyone! Whether you want to be proactive with your health, have a chronic illness, are traveling soon, suffering from a hangover/food poisoning, trying to shed a few pounds, or trying to recover from a workout, we have a vitamin drip based on your lifestyle.
When you take multivitamins by mouth, most people only absorb 20-30% of what they ingest. The rest becomes waste and gets excreted from your body. Utilizing IV therapy allows the essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to bypass the gut, providing 100% absorption and immediate use by your body.
You can have vitamin therapy as often as once a week. We recommend IV therapy when you feel the need to boost your energy levels, prior to travel, nutrient deficiency related to abdominal surgery, hangover recovery, a hard workout or just want to be proactive with your health. Some may benefit from an initial weekly vitamin infusion while others may be fine with one a quarter.
Anticipate your first IV therapy appointment to take about 60-90 minutes. This will include paperwork, consultation, review appropriate labs, discuss medical history, question and answers, IV insertion, and relaxing in our massage chairs and/or recliners while receiving your vitamin IV infusion. All subsequent visits should have you out in less than an hour. IM vitamin injections can be done in 15 minutes.
At this time, we are not providing services for those under the age of 18 years old and those with end stage renal or liver disease.
A Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP) done in the last 8 months is needed to start treatment. This blood work is typically done during your annual physical. A copy of your results should be provided to your first appointment for the NP to review to ensure your kidneys/liver can adequately filter and excrete waste. If you do not have labs, it can be drawn onsite for an additional $99.99 and receive results in less than 15 minutes. Please note this adds time to your appointment and must wait for labs to result prior to starting the infusion.
A licensed medical professional (nurse practitioner, registered nurse, MD) is on staff to administer intravenous or intramuscular vitamin therapy.
Pregnant women must obtain and bring a letter of approval from your obstetrician indicating which vitamins and amount of saline are acceptable to be infused.
